www.nc.gov – lots of information for North Carolina citizens, businesses and state employees. Includes links to DMV, vital record such as birth, death, marriage and divorce.
www.ncga.state.nc.us/ – the North Carolina General Assembly web site. Information regarding the NC House of Representatives and Senate, NC Statutes. You can look up your state elective officials here.
www.buncombecounty.org – Buncombe County Government’s website. Includes information on all departments such as Department of Social Services, Health Center and transportation (including Mountain Mobility).
Prescription Drugs Programs
www.pparx.org – The Partnership for Prescription Assistance helps qualifying persons who lack prescription coverage get the medication they need through the public or private program that’s right for them.
www.simplefill.com – this program is for people who are not able to afford their prescribed medication.
www.medicare.gov/pharmaceutical-assistance-program/index.aspx -some pharmaceutical companies offer assistance programs for the drugs they manufacture. Can look drugs up to see if there is help for your specific prescriptions.

www.ncdhhs.gov – NC Medicaid information details of coverage, eligibility and types of programs. Application online, or print an application.
www.ncdoi.com/SHIIP – the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counsels Medicare beneficiaries and caregivers about Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, and long-term care insurance.
www.abccm.org – partnership between Mission Hospital and ABCCM to fill the gaps and provide access to health care to those who are uninsured residents and below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines by offering medical and dental services; as well as medication through a licensed pharmacy.
www.wncchs.org – Free primary health care practice in Buncombe County. Addresses the main health issues of the community and provides preventive, acute, and chronic disease care through a multidisciplinary team of professional, paraprofessional, and lay workers. (Also called Minnie Jones Clinic)
www.brchs.com – Blue Ridge Community Health Services. Provides family, dental and pediatric healthcare to all, regardless of insurance status. Covers all residents no matter the county of residence. Offices in Hendersonville, Brevard and Waynesville.
www.amchc.org – Appalachian Mountain Community Health Services. Provides primary care, behavioral health and pediatrics to all regardless of insurance status. Covers all residents regardless of county of residence. Offices in Asheville, Leicester, Sylva, Robinsville and Murphy. Also called Dale Fell Clinic.

www.nccourts.org – Administrative Office of the Courts’ website. Education for the reader on the NC Court and Judicial system.
www.ncaj.com – NC Advocates for Justice. Association of legal professionals dedicated to protecting people’s rights through community, education, and advocacy. Information on protecting your rights, the civil justice system and a directory to find a lawyer. Includes a directory of free legal help in NC.

www.pisgahlegal.org – Pisgah Legal Service provides free civil legal assistance to help low-income persons access to justice to meet urgent needs. Serves Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Transylvania, Polk and Rutherford Counties.

www.nsclc.org – The National Senior Citizens Law Center advocates before the courts. Congress and federal agencies to promote independence and well-being of low-income elderly and disabled Americans.
www.lovingfood.org – Loving Food Resources provides basic need to people living with HIV/AIDS and home hospice through food, health and personal care items.
www.coabc.org/ – Council on Aging – Buncombe County. Medicare help, Health & Wellness for Seniors, Programs for independent living, Workshops for Caregivers. Provides guidance and counseling on elder and disabled issues.
