How We Can Help

How the Law Office of Cynthia A. Strom can help YOU!

Cynthia Strom and her staff have been helping people just like you for over 25 years in western NC. We are different from many disability law firms in that you will find a warmth and understanding that comes from an attorney who is also a nurse, and provides guidance to her staff who are also well trained in treating people right! Cindy has a down to earth style and is respectful to everyone.

Cindy will analyze your claim and along with her knowledgeable paraprofessional staff, will figure out what isn’t being documented that should be – like the missing piece of the puzzle. We are a local law firm, not a national law firm who pretends to be capable of helping you from afar. Do not be tricked into filing for disability through a national Social Security disability firm website. You may not even have a lawyer as your representative. We have years of experience working with medical providers in WNC, and are known for being able to obtain clarification about your condition and how it affects you. We will become part of the team of family, friends and medical providers who will work together to provide proof of your disability for Social Security. If you already have requested a national Social Security disability firm as your representative, you can terminate that relationship.

The Law Office of Cynthia A. Strom prides itself in finding ways for our clients to obtain medical care during the disability claim processing, even if it’s not perfect. We establish your probable eligibility and offer you the resources to obtain that access to care. We routinely help our clients become eligible for Medicaid for the Disabled, as well as point the way to community and governmental resources like the Department of Social Services, and needs-based programs. We try very hard to guide you in a more successful outcome for your life, not just your disability claim.

We encourage you to call us if you have any questions regarding this process so we can provide some guidance. You do not have to have applied or have received an initial denial of benefits before you call us.

You can file your application in several ways:

Online at (;

Call SSA at 1-800-772-1213; or
Go to your local Social Security office (calling ahead for an appointment is preferred):
Asheville- 800 Centre Park Dr, Asheville, NC 28805 (866) 572-8361;
Franklin – 2123 Lakeside Dr, Franklin, NC 28734 (866) 562-0738; or
Hendersonville – 205 S Grove St, Hendersonville, NC 28792 (866) 964-5053.

Additionally, we invite you to obtain our representation at any point along the way – application, initial level, reconsideration level, or hearing level. It’s never too late to obtain help with this confusing and anxiety producing administrative process. We can’t guarantee favorable outcome, but over the years, Cindy Strom has always been well ahead of the national and local statistics on successful cases. Don’t miss your deadlines, or be uncertain about what is happening with your claim. Instead, call the Law Office of Cynthia A. Strom.

*If you have significant limitations regarding reading, writing or understanding, we are happy to help you.
